A special highlight in the educational calendar is the annual “International Nano-Optoelectronics Work- shop” (iNOW) that was initiated and is organized by members of the CRC, inter alia, UC Berkeley, Stanford University, Tsinghua University (Beijing), Tokyo University and Royal Institute of Technology (Stockholm). The number of participating institutions increases annually. The two-week iNOW workshop features invited lectures from internationally renowned researchers in the area of Optoelectronics and nanotechnology to students selected on the basis of their achievements. The iNOW is thus a unique opportunity to network with international researchers and top students on a world-wide level. Typically 200 students from Europe, the US, Japan, and China participate in the iNOW workshop.
